Tony Dungy Robot Goes Haywire; Electrocutes NBC Staff

Rodney Harrison and Bob Costas In Critical Condition Following Accident
New York, NY (CHN) – Staff at NBC are still reconstructing the events that led to a complete and total failure of the Tony Dungy Robot. The malfunction occurred during the Sunday night post-game wrap up following the Eagles and 49ers Week 5 match-up.
NBC Scientists originally developed the robot in 2009 shortly after Dungy decided to re-neg on his 3-year contract with NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” so that he could spend more time with family. Despite regular malfunction and non-human functionality, NBC has continued to use the robot up until the catastrophic failure Sunday.

NBC producer Fred Gaudelli spoke frankly to CHN about the incident, “We tried to limit use of the Dungy Robot to statistical assessment. As time went on viewers didn’t seem to take offense to the robots lack of human eye movement, facial cohesion, or mind boggling awkwardness. I think we got cocky and just rode that robot until it failed”.

Early reports indicate that Bob Costas was wrapping post game discussion with the Dungy Unit and attempting to segue to Mike Florio for review of Ben Roethlisberger’s return to the Steelers.

The Dungy Robot reportedly began to experience voltage irregularities and immediately started to regurgitate Peyton Manning stats from the Indianapolis Colts 2006-07 Super Bowl season.

Investigators believe that at some point the wiring originally meant to control eye blinking and speech inflection finally burned through the Dungy Robot’s thin fiberglass skin causing mass electrocution and fire to the ‘Football Night In America’ Set.

NBC will replace the injured Rodney Harrison and Bob Costas with back-up robots for 3-4 weeks but promises to phase out the use of all future robots with the exception of the current Jay Leno model which isn’t scheduled to be scrapped until the spring of 2014.

ALF Dies Following Roller Coaster Accident

U.S. Army Ends 24 Year Long Hunt For Stocky Alien

(Six Flags) Valencia, CA: Alf, best know for his starring role in the NBC reality show ‘ALF’ (1986-1990) has died following an incident on The Riddler’s Revenge at the Los Angeles based Magic Mountain theme park. ALF, one of just a handful of survivors from the planet Melmac, has been on the run from the U.S. Army ever since his exploratory craft was forced down by mechanical failure. Luckily his spaceship crashed in a suburban middle-class Los Angeles neighborhood. He became a household name when NBC executives were tipped off about the incident and the generous support from the Tanner family. NBC rolled cameras for 4 seasons and green-lighted several dead in the water spin offs about the Alien Life Form’s unusual antics.

ALF ALF Dies Following Roller Coaster AccidentRide Engineer Terrence Spriggs discussed today’s fatal incident with CHN, “He wasn’t tall enough,” Spriggs admitted. “He was under the line but I let him hop on just for a minute; I always tell everyone to hang on but I think he was high or something; might of slipped in soft-frozen lemonade”.

The Los Angeles Deputy Coroner was called out to the scene but refused to remove the mangled corpse because ‘the remains were not human’. Park Management believes that the furry carcass will likely be ‘taken care of’ by stray dogs who regularly breach the park fences searching for churros and barf ‘.

ALF has been far from public view over the past decade following a collection of failed projects such as the animated ALF Tales, ALF’s Talk Show, and re-occurring appearances on Hollywood Squares. Sources say that the 4′ tall Alien became infatuated with figure skating and trained for months in an attempt to make his own Olympic run. Rumors that ALF might land a spot on Season II of Dancing with The Stars fell flat when CBS announced that Lil’ Romeo would take the final position instead.

A long court battle with The Animal Liberation Front (also known as ALF) is said to have drained most of his fortune. He contended until the very end that they were just after him because of his steady diet of cats.

His experience with space travel did lead to once promising negotiations for a joint venture with NASA in 2009. However, severe budget cutbacks to the program and the fact that the Army was still hot on his trail led to complete dissolution of any agreement late last year.

CHN attempted to contact former ALF co-star Max Wright (Mr. Tanner) for comment but he had his hands full with a crack pipe and was balls deep in some dude.

Will Arnett and James Franco Hang Out on NBC Sitcoms

NBC’s Thursday-night sitcom lineup presents the first new episodes of 2010 on January 14.

Amy Poehler/Parks and Recreation

Helping out to make the comedy block extra funny are Parks and Recreation guest star Will Arnett (Arrested Development) and 30 Rock guest star James Franco (Spider-Man movie franchise).

Also of note is The Office’s absence at 9pm ET to make room for a double, back-to-back dose of 30 Rock.

Community starts the programming at 8pm with “Investigative Journalism,” which takes place after Greendale Community College’s winter break. When the students return to resume the academic year, they learn someone new has arrived, and they also must decide if a classmate is good enough to become a part of their group. In addition, Jeff takes on a new role as the Greendale Gazette Journal’s editor.

Parks and Recreation follows at 8:30pm with “The Set Up,” which features Tropic Thunder actor Justin Theroux, along with Arnett. Theroux plays a friend of Ann who raises insecure feelings in Mark, and Arnett plays Ann’s colleague and the blind date of his real-life wife’s character Leslie.

The first 30 Rock episode at 9pm is the one with Franco called “Klaus and Greta.” Jack attempts to undo a disastrous New Year’s Eve mistake, Jenna helps Franco’s character hide a huge secret by staging a fake relationship with him, and Tracy learns to love the ladies even more.

The sitcom block closes with the second 30 Rock episode, “Black Light Attack!,” at 9:30pm. Liz and Jack compete for the attention of her romantic interest Danny (Cheyenne Jackson), Jenna tries to score an acting gig on Gossip Girl, and Tracy adds Sue (Sue Galloway) to his entourage.

30 Rock: ‘Secret Santa’ Preview

I promise this isn’t an error. The fresh December 10 Christmas episode of 30 Rock has the same exact title as the Office episode that precedes it: “Secret Santa.” Don’t ask me why.

30 Rock

Film actress Julianne Moore (Freedomland, Hannibal, Boogie Nights) guest stars on this version as the long-ago high school object of Jack’s affections.

Jack has the unexpected chance to hook up with her again when he discovers her profile while wetting his feet on an online social networking website.

Meanwhile, Liz attempts to find the ideal gift for hard-to-please Jack, Kenneth struggles with resistance from his colleagues when he tries to arrange a Secret Santa gift exchange, and Jenna is dismayed to learn her Christmas solo may not be so solo this year.

Take a look at the lone sneak peek for the episode below, which features Liz and Jack.

The Office

While we wait patiently to learn who that special someone is, he and his colleagues prepare for the annual office Christmas party.

As expected, tension eventually develops when Michael gets angry about Jim letting Phyllis play Santa. Also, Jim and Dwight band together to get their officemates in the mood for the holidays in the face of Dunder Mifflin’s difficulties.

NBC has piled on the previews again, giving fans five sneak peeks to sample. Check ‘em all out below.

Parks and Recreation: ‘Christmas Scandal’ Preview

Fantastic recurring Season Two guest star Louis C.K. (Lucky Louie) returns to reprise his role as lawman Dave Sanderson on the new December 10 episode of Parks and Recreation called “Christmas Scandal.”

Amy Poehler/Parks and Recreation

Unfortunately, his lady love Leslie gets into a bit of trouble and becomes the focus of a sex-filled holiday scandal.

The predicament begins when Leslie puts together the Pawnee Winter Wonderland Festival and somehow ends up hiding from the media after a fallen councilman involves her in said sex scandal.

So, while she’s busy with that situation, her boss Ron gets to learn how valuable she is as an employee when he covers for her back at the office.

Sneak a peek at “Christmas Scandal” in the following FIVE preview clips. NBC has definitely gone all out for the show this week. Don’t miss the fourth one, Sexy Dexy Strikes Again, which shows what happens when Leslie learns about her sudden, unwanted notoriety.

Community: ‘Comparative Religion’ Preview

On December 10, NBC presents a special holiday-themed night of comedy, featuring the last new episodes of 2009 for its Thursday sitcoms. Kicking things off at 8pm ET is Community with “Comparative Religion.”

Community

Heads-up: If you’re a 1980s Brat Pack fan, you definitely don’t wanna miss the episode because prominent member Anthony Michael Hall (The Dead Zone, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles) guest stars.

Hall plays a bully at Greendale Community College who gets confrontational with Jeff. Meanwhile, Jeff also has to cope with the stark possibility that he may not pass Spanish 101.

Elsewhere, Shirley is surprised to learn about her classmates’ diverse religious beliefs when she holds a Christmas party.

Preview the episode in the following two sneak peeks. Jeff and a bully clash in the first clip, and Shirley’s nerves are frayed when her Christmas party becomes a normal old holiday party in the second video.

Community airs Thursdays on NBC at 8pm ET.
