Next on NBC Sitcoms: October 22

On October 22, Community opens NBC’s Thursday-night comedy block at 8pm ET with “Football, Feminism and You.”

During the episode, Annie foils Jeff’s career-saving plan that requires Troy to join the college football team, and Shirley schools Britta in girl talk.

Next at 8:30pm on Parks and Recreation is “Kaboom.” Leslie enacts Mark’s plan to speed up the process when progress is slow during Ann and the Parks Department’s participation in a volunteer project for the KaBOOM! organization.

Following at 9pm is The Office with “The Lover.” Pam and Jim return from their honeymoon to get a surprising revelation from Michael about his new girlfriend, and Dwight makes a strange apology to Jim for being such a pain to him over the years.

Finally, 30 Rock closes out the comedy block at 9:30pm with “Into the Crevasse.” The episode features returning guest star Will Arnett in the role of Devin, who’s determined to get revenge against Jack. Elsewhere, Liz faces the wrath of both Tracy and Jenna, and Kenneth volunteers at an animal shelter.

Next on ‘Community’: Advanced Criminal Law

Somebody is in BIG trouble on the new October 15 episode of Community called “Advanced Criminal Law,” featuring guest star John Oliver of The Daily Show.

When Señor Chang becomes determined to track down a cheater, he threatens to fail the whole class if the guilty party doesn’t confess. But after someone finally does speak up, lapsed lawyer Jeff defends them.

Elsewhere, Annie persuades Pierce to compose the new school song.

On October 8, NBC’s Thursday-night comedy lineup is undergoing a transformation. Gone at 8pm ET is Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Thursday and new in the time slot is the network’s latest sitcom Community, which celebrates the move with the fresh episode “Social Psychology.”

Elsewhere, Annie recruits Troy and Abed as test subjects after she joins Professor Duncan’s (guest star John Oliver) psychology research team.

September 24 brings the second episode of NBC’s new sitcom Community, the Señor Chang-centric epic “Spanish 101.”

After meeting all of the comedy’s Greendale Community College student characters during the September 17 series premiere, this week we learn a little about one of the teachers at the school, namely Señor Chang (Ken Jeong), the Spanish teacher mentioned and pictured above.

When the instructor assigns a class project that requires students to pair up, slacker lawyer Jeff schemes to partner with his non-mutual romantic interest Britta. His plan eventually backfires, however, leaving him with a partner he doesn’t want.

Community: Series Premiere Preview

Finally, the moment many have been waiting for: the debut of NBC’s new Chevy Chase (Saturday Night Live) and Joel McHale (The Soup) sitcom Community. The big premiere happens tonight, September 17, with the pilot episode.

Chevy Chase/Community 1.01

One of the fall’s most buzzed about new series, Community follows the adventures of a group of misfits who attend Greendale Community College.

The central figure in the group is Jeff Winger (McHale), a fast-talking lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group that eventually helps the members to learn more about themselves than their course work.

Jeff’s fellow students include Pierce (Chase), a man whose life experience has brought him infinite wisdom; Britta (Gillian Jacobs), a 28-year-old dropout with something to prove; Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), a sassy middle-aged divorce; Abed (Danny Pudi), a pop culture junkie; Annie (Alison Brie), a high-strung perfectionist; and Troy (Donald Glover), a former high school football star. Rounding out the merry band is Spanish professor Señor Chang (Ken Jeong).
