Cougar Town: Barry Bostwick Guest Stars on ‘When a Kid Goes Bad’

February 10th, 2010

Spin City veteran Barry Bostwick drops by ABC’s Cougar Town for the new February 10 episode “When a Kid Goes Bad.”

Courteney Cox/Cougar Town

The actor plays the role of Roger, who just happens to be the father of Laurie’s friend Smith.

During the episode, Laurie meets Roger for the first time, Ellie and Grayson go at it over who’s top dog, Jules and Bobby butt heads over letting Travis attend a party where he’ll most likely guzzle lots of booze, and Jules is further disappointed when she plans to spend Valentine’s Day with Grayson and then learns he can’t stand the holiday.

A sneak peek for “When a Kid Goes Bad” called Cole Slaw follows, featuring Jules chatting with her son and ex, and also getting way too happy over junk food.

Cougar Town airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9:30pm ET.

Modern Family: David Brenner Visits for ‘My Funky Valentine’

February 10th, 2010

Comedian David Brenner (where has he been?) appears as himself during the fresh February 10 episode of Modern Family called “My Funky Valentine.”

Modern Family

While Claire and Phil try out a new activity for Valentine’s Day…

… (role playing instead of just dinner out), Jay disappoints his wife Gloria with a mere visit to a comedy show, and Cameron and Mitchell help Manny on the romantic front.

Check out the Escalator preview for “My Funky Valentine” below, which shows why Claire and Phil should never ever role-play in public again. Too funny and sooo very embarrassing!

Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9pm ET.

The romantic holiday somehow still doesn’t go well for Frankie and Mike…

…although all three of their kids are out of sight for once: Axl is on a date, Brick is at a sleepover, and Sue is at a party.

Sneak a peek at “Valentine’s Day” in the Alone preview below, featuring a temporarily excited Frankie and Mike.

Modern Family: Minnie Driver Guest Stars on ‘Moon Landing’

February 2nd, 2010

Former Riches star Minnie Driver graces ABC’s Modern Family with her enormously talented presence during the brand-new February 3 episode called “Moon Landing.”

Modern Family

The Academy Award-nominated English actress drops by to play Valerie, an old friend of Julie Bowen’s character Claire.

When Valerie pays a visit to Claire’s home, she’s not only very different than how Claire remembers her, but her presence also leaves Claire feeling less than wonderful about herself.

Elsewhere, Gloria gets a little legal help from Mitchell, while Jay has to deal with an odd experience that occurs in the locker room one day when he and Cameron meet up to play some racquetball.

Unfortunately, ABC seems to have forgotten about a sneak peek for “Moon Landing,” so the description will have to do.

Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9pm ET.

Next on January 26 ‘Scrubs’ and ‘Better Off Ted’

January 26th, 2010

Warehouse 13 star Eddie McClintock guest stars on the fresh January 26 episode of Better Off Ted, which follows a brand-new installment of Scrubs .

Scrubs

Scrubs kicks off ABC’s Tuesday-night comedy hour at 8pm ET with “Our Dear Leaders.”

Former Heist and Blind Justice regular Reno Wilson stops by to play Dr. Russell Vaughn, an internationally well-known surgeon who makes sensitive Turk feel very insecure when he visits Sacred Heart. Meanwhile, Lucy gets a little too into her new role when she’s named team leader for Hell Week.

Next at 8:30pm, Better Off Ted presents “Mess of a Salesman,” which features guest star McClintock as Ted’s brother Billy. Talk about perfect casting.

Ted eventually begins to regret his decision to help his fast-talking brother land a job selling lab equipment when Billy not only manages to sell Veridian Dynamics more equipment than the company needs, but also brings out the worst in Lem and Phil while doing so.

Elsewhere, snarky Veronica provides a rare glimpse of her benevolent side when she receives an award from a charity for girls that Veridian allegedly supports. After she and Linda learn later that Veridian has a habit of not giving most of the donations it receives to the charity, the two become determined to correct that situation.

Scrubs and Better Off Ted air Tuesdays on ABC.

The Middle: ‘The Yelling’ Preview

January 25th, 2010

There are no more new episodes of freshman sitcom The Middle scheduled for January, but the comedy returns with fresh installments next month, starting with the February 3 episode “The Yelling.”

Patricia Heaton

As the title hints, the action revolves around very loud voices.

Frankie makes a seemingly hopeless pact with her “lively” — to put it mildly — children: If they complete their homework and household chores without her having to force them to do so, she’ll stop constantly nagging and yelling at them. We’ll see about that.

Also, Frankie’s husband Mike teams up with her colleague Bob to deliver snack pastries on the night shift. I sense lots of tension and hilarity ahead for those two.

Sneak a peek at “The Yelling” in the Lesson preview below, which shows what happens when Frankie tries to improve her kids’ naughty behavior by making them watch a very unique video starring her and them. Poor Bob, stuck there on the sofa for the event.

The Middle airs Wednesdays on ABC at 8:30pm ET.

Cougar Town: ‘All the Wrong Reasons’ Preview

January 24th, 2010

ABC’s Cougar Town is currently taking a brief break from presenting new episodes, but the hit rookie comedy returns with fresh funny called “All the Wrong Reasons” on Wednesday, February 3.

Courteney Cox/Cougar Town

At the center of the installment is a rift between Jules and her gal pal Ellie, all over…

That’s right, you guessed it — a man. The male in question is what they consider a “hot” young tennis instructor.

And while the ladies annoy each other relentlessly as they compete for his attention, Andy and Grayson join together to support Bobby as he tries to get over his ex-wife yet again.

Check out two sneak peeks for “All the Wrong Reasons” below: Lonely (poor Jules somehow gets the idea that she may remain all by her lonesome forever) and Tennis (Jules and Ellie get into it over tennis and that man).

Cougar Town airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9:30pm ET.

Cougar Town: ‘Stop Dragging My Heart Around’ Preview

January 20th, 2010

The fresh January 20 episode of ABC’s Cougar Town is called “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.”

Courteney Cox/Cougar Town

After Jules breaks up with Jeff, she relies on her ex-husband Bobby for comfort.

However, the situation gets complicated when they end up kissing after drinking some wine.

Also, Travis’ plans for his girlfriend Kylie (Spencer Locke, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide) take an unexpected turn one night and Laurie learns Grayson has something in common with Jules.

Preview “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” in the following sneak peek called Fried.

Cougar Town airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9:30pm ET.

Modern Family: ‘Fifteen Percent’ Preview

January 20th, 2010

Next up on ABC’s hit rookie sitcom Modern Family is the new January 20 episode “Fifteen Percent,” which features The Usual Suspects cast member Chazz Palminteri as the character Shorty.

Modern Family

Shorty is a friend of Jay, who begins to wonder about his sexuality after Mitchell mentions that he thinks Shorty might be gay and in the closet.

Meanwhile, Claire has issues with her husband Phil’s universal remote and Manny’s date gets a makeover from his mom Gloria.

Sneak a peek at “Fifteen Percent” in the following hilarious preview clip called Technology. Apparently, Claire’s not too bright when it comes to electronic stuff.

Modern Family airs Wednesdays on ABC at 9pm ET.

Next on January 19 ‘Scrubs’ and ‘Better Off Ted’

January 18th, 2010

ABC has fresh episodes of Scrubs and Better Off Ted coming up on January 19 at 9pm and 9:30pm ET, respectively.

Better Off Ted

Scrubs opens the hour of new comedy with “Our True Lies.”

While Dr. Cox dedicates himself to abusing the entire class for the sins of one lone cheater on an exam, Denise confesses something out of the blue.

Next on Better Off Ted is “Lust in Translation,” which features Ted both lucky and unlucky in love. The first is true because he has a new romantic interest, a German executive named Greta (Stefanie von Pfetten, Eureka), who can’t speak English.

The second is also true because although Veridian Dynamics has a translation gadget in development that could help solve the communication dilemma, it uses Phil’s voice, which puts Ted in a not-so-romantic mood.

Scrubs and Better Off Ted air Tuesdays on ABC.
